Bugatti - Prinetti & Stucchi Type 1
|
Prototype of motorcar with 4 monocylinders engines (probably " de Dion " one) realised
when Ettore Bugatti was employed by Prinetti and Stucchi. Engines were arranged by groups of 2 on both sides of rear axle. Of Ettore's confession, this car " did not give whole satisfaction ", what means that it was a failure ... We know very few information
about Type 1. There is no photography of this car which is probably lost for ever.

Type 1 would have been able to look like this quadricycle,
but with 2 supplementary engines at rear.

This 1899 Prinetti and Stucchi is equipped with 2 monocylinders engines taken up at front, power
is passed on to rear wheels by a belt. Ettore maybe contributed to its elaboration, but it is not sure. Type 1 would also have been able to look like this car in main lines.
Today at Museum of Motorcar in Turin (Italy).
