BUGATTI LEGENDS Unproven legends and true stories by Jaap Horst
122 pages, 143 photographs (mainly period) and drawings "You know about the Italian descendant in Uruguay who is a collector of rare material, like a Daimler Benz that
belonged to a nazi officer. He has a Bugatti engine that, as he says, is the first Formula 1 engine. This engine would be a revolution in the history of car racing, and
actually in the history of the automobile as a whole!" This is one of the legends raised in this book, which is based largely on a collection of mails that I received
over the 10 years that the BugattiPage exists. These are the mails that were too strange or too much of a rumour to be published on my BugattiPage site, plus a selection of
the most interesting material from my Internet site. Opposite to most other - well researched - books, this one is written more to raise new questions: Instead of proving
legends to be either false or true, this book tries to launch several new ones. Apart from these legends, there is also lots of previously unpublished information on various
aspects of Bugatti history. Though some of the stories may raise some eyebrows, and, I must admit, it may very well be that some are not true, most of the stories told in
the book are real aspects of Bugatti history, like the stories on the Bugatti T125 and the Bugatti OTI, the T37 with compressor in front of the engine and many others. Added
to the stories were many period pictures, mostly previously unpublished. Available from December 2005. Copies can be ordered now and will be sent as soon as the books are
printed. Prices are the following: Europe: 25 Euro, including Postage & Packaging Rest of world: 30 Euro or $40, including Postage & Packaging This is
payable cash by mail or by PayPal, my PayPal name is J.J.Horst@Bigfoot.com. But, PayPal Payers Pay more ($42 or 26 Euro) because of costs involved. When sending by mail,
please send to the address below. Please do not send cheques, as these cost me too much to cash ! Jaap Horst, Abstederschans 65, 3432 EH Nieuwegein, the Netherlands

Le Petit Bugattiste Illustré by François Chevalier, texts and drawings
Editions du Palmier - Nîmes, France - august 2003 Text in French and English Former pilot, former director of the Paul Ricard circuit, organiser of great events,
François Chevalier is also painter, designer and sculptor, and a great amateur of Bugatti. This large-sized album reads itself as a comic strip.
One smiles at each page, even if it’s sometimes a little hard : all the small shortcomings of the “Bugatti background” are turned here in derision with humor. The drawings are remarkably precise and full of charm. But be careful : do not believe all this that is written, practically all is invented, but so real ! Don’t hesitate to buy this cheap and healthy pleasure.
Caution : texts are in French and English, but the texts into the drawings are not translated. You will have to speak a little French in the aim to understand all the
subtleties of this humor ! Available at the editor for 36 euros + shipping cost (free to France) : click here

Une vie pour Bugatti by Yan Verdier Autoedition Yan Verdier - Paris - november 2002
Foreword by Marc Nicolosi Text in French with an English translation at the end of book This book redraws Henri Novo's career, a man who dedicated all its life to
the maintenance and the restoration of Bugattis of his customers. Henri Novo, who recently died after a long disease, had entrusted all his archives to Yan Verdier, a young
member of the Club Bugatti France which brought him its support in the publishing of this book. Very numerous new photos of the era, as well as a moving text make of this book
a delight for the amateur of authenticity. A register of all Bugatti crossed in Henri Novo's hands, with chassis numbers, works realised, photographs for some and names of the
owners of the era will be particularly appreciated by the owners of Bugatti who could, maybe, find theirs there !
Printed to 1000 numbered copies only, Club Bugatti France still have 20 copies for sale, click here

Lucien Wurmser, mécanicien de Grand Prix by Alfred Wurmser
Published in author's account - Molsheim - France - september 2002 Foreword by Paul Kestler Text in French A son tells with a lot of emotion and admiration the life
of his father, discreet and modest man in spite of a surprising fate. Lucien Wurmser indeed spent a large part of his career at Bugatti factory, at first as pupil, then as
mechanic of the racing services from 1930 till 1940. This book shows well the atmosphere which reigned at Bugatti in this time, and the pride of the men who dedicated
themselves completely to the success of La Marque. These men of the shadow, very close from great pilots, respectful of the values and traditions, devoted bodies and souls to
Le Patron, wrote the most famous pages of the French car-racing. All the complicity of Alfred Wurmser with the friends of his father was necessary to reveal to the public the
archives of great Robert Aumaître, Joseph Spiesser, Léon Bande, Jean Georgenthum and many others else, every ancient mechanics of Bugatti. Numerous new photos, text of
historian's precision, printing quality, Make of this book an unavoidable work for all Bugatti amateur. Available only at the author (address here)

L’adieu à Bugatti by Patrice de Méritens
Editions Albin Michel - Paris - France - 2000 Text in French Rembrandt Bugatti writes a long letter to his brother Ettore before committing suicide on January 8th, 1916.
What is presented by the author as a novel, thus a fiction, is in fact a detailed study of relations between the members of Carlo Bugatti's family, and in particular between
Rembrandt and Ettore. This concern of the historic truth is only altered by the evocation of an impossible love relation between Rembrandt and Barbara Bolzoni, Ettore's wife.
The characters totally opposed of Rembrandt and Ettore, but also the unchanging links which unite both brothers, are perfectly described in this book which can be considered
as an excellent biography of Rembrandt Bugatti. Available new on Amazon website.. Price : near 15 euros

Ettore Bugatti, Fabrique d’Automobiles à Molsheim
Edited by Les Amis d’Auguste Dubois and Enthousiastes Bugatti Alsace - september 1999 Text in french Ettore Bugatti employed Auguste Dubois as draughtsman between 1920
and 1922. But Dubois was a real artist and he leaved the factory in the aim to apply his talent of painter and engraver. Ettore and Auguste were both artists and a advertising
brochure for Bugatti, illustrated by Dubois, was edited in 1922. This brochure is today absolutely impossible to find in the original edition. This book is the re-edition as
fac-simile of this 1932 brochure, with 23 Dubois’s engravings. All are representing the factory’s workshop in 1922, with a lot of precision. They are also historic documents.
And more the less, they are splendid ! Not easy to find, sometimes on eBay. Current price : from 40 to 60 euros according to condition
